The Osterley & Wyke Green Residents Association (OWGRA) is the residents’ association which includes the White Lodge (Conquest Club) site. OWGRA grew out of a successful campaign to prevent building encroachment on Osterley Park and has taken up many issues on behalf of residents since then. It is currently involved in helping the formation of a Neighbourhood Forum which will ultimately be an important part of the local planning system.
You can find out more about OWGRA’s aims and activities and how to become a member from its website.
The Keep Osterley Green (KOG) group was formed spontaneously in response to the proposal to build a school for 1400 pupils on the White Lodge (Conquest Club). Shortly after forming OWGRA offered its help to KOG and expressed its support for the campaign to protect the area’s Metropolitan Open Space from built developments.
Some of the people who got KOG going are also OWGRA members so there is an overlap of personnel. We agreed at a joint meeting that it was organisationally desirable for KOG to remain separate while working closely with OWGRA. KOG is thus strategically aligned with OWGRA, we have no conflict of objectives or interest, but organisationally independent, the needs of our campaign require a high degree of focus involving many people not all of whom are associated with OWGRA.
We are very grateful for the backing of OWGRA and for its generous offer of assistance, including financial assistance should we need it.
